In scripture, we see the fall of two of God's creatures that have had eternal consequences on the history of creation.
The first in order of scriptural appearance is that of Man.
Man was deceived into transgressing the Law of God by the promise of being like God.
Man's deceiver fell at an earlier point in time and Scripture tells us that his fall was because of his ambition to ascend the mount of God and be like God.
Both of these creatures were brought down by their ambitions to ascend and attain the Divinity of God.
In contrast to these two, we see Christ, who is in very nature God, humbling himself and making himself nothing--a servant. It is because of this act of humility and submission to the Most High that He was given the name above every name and all authority in heaven and on earth.
The ways of this world, taught us by the fallen prince of this world, are to have ambitions to rise and be gods.
But the way of the Kingdom is to humble oneself and live in Submission to the only God.
What spirit drives your ambitions?
The spirit that seeks to gain a crown and be like God or the Spirit that leads you to cast your crowns and bow before Him in submission and worship?
